As part of its role of fostering cooperation between health care institutions in relation to the modernization of their information systems, the GMSIH works in collaboration with the majority of the players involved in the field of health information systems.

By expressing the combined needs of users in health care institutions with regard to their institutional contacts, the industry and various organizations ensuring missions in this domain, the task of the GMSIH, in a more general context, complements that of the other players in its environment. This complementarity takes the form of cooperative actions and contributions to national projects developed by these organizations or to its own projects, or even by involving these partners in its own projects as contributors, with the objective of ensuring consistency with all developments taking place in the field of health information systems.

Therefore, in the first place, in view of the GMSIH’s role in helping health care institutions to implement the policies of public authorities in the domain of information systems, the group has set up cooperative actions with the different organizations acting in the public sphere :

• The Mission for the Computerization of the Health System (MISS)
• The Mission for the Support of Hospital Investment (MAINH)
• The Public Interest Group – Professional Health Cards (GIP-CPS)
• The Public Interest Group for the Personal Medical Record (GIP-DMP)
• The Marine Mission to the Ministry of Health
• The General Directorate for State Modernization (DGME) of the Ministry of Finance
• The French National Authority for Health (HAS)
• Health insurance organizations, especially the French National Health Insurance Fund for Salaried Employees (CNAMTS)
• The National Information Center for Health Networks (ONRS)
• The National School of Public Health (ENSP)

In addition, its mission of cooperation between health care institutions involves the GMSIH in close relationships with the national coordinating units of these institutions and federations of health care institutions, which appoint the members of its deliberative and consulting entities, contribute to the definition of its strategy and ensure a constant relay between the group and their own members :

Finally, the GMSIH maintains collaborative relations with the scholarly associations and professional organizations that contribute to the development of health information systems through their initiatives and expertise :
