The objective of our study activities is to offer health institutions and networks reference databases within the domain of hospital information systems.
These reference databases may take the form :
Any published reference database is based on a project conducted in collaboration with specialists and users from health care institutions or health networks (physicians, engineers, managers, medical personnel). Depending on the subject, working groups can add to the system in cooperation with the publishers.
Between 2000 and 2006, the GMSIH published around 25 reference databases.
It is essential to maintain these databases in order to consider requirements to update this work as soon as possible. Thus, with regard to the reference database on patient identification, significant developments have taken place in the environment (law on family names, future decree on identifying personal medical records, European health card, etc.). The maintenance activity handles this work.
Study activities are organized around the different processes that make up a health care institution’s Hospital Information System, integrating the link with the health network partners. The study activity also covers subjects associated with management of the information system and the performance and functioning of the information system in health care institutions.
As with all the GMSIH’s activities, all French health care institutions (public, private, PSPH (private participant in public service)) are included.
